River Rescue for Canoe Trips

Missinaibi Headwaters specializes in canoe instruction courses which focus on whitewater canoe tripping. With 8000 kilometers of guiding experience, ORCA Level III Moving Water Instructor and Programme Director David Morin teaches the skills and techniques required to paddle wilderness rivers safely, without sacrificing the fun.

A river safety and rescue course designed for wilderness canoe trippers. Based on the assumption that one is on an extended remote expedition, we will cover rescue scenarios, accident and crisis management, and prevention. Hard skills such as knots and swimming, pulley systems and self rescue will be covered.

Note: This is not a certification course, but a general interest/skills improvement course for the recreational canoeist. River professionals should consider a SWRT course.
