Driving
From Michigan:
Take HWY 17E from Sault Ste Marie to Thessalon. Take 129 N to Chapleau. Approx. Drive time from is Detroit 6 hours; 4 from Sault Ste Marie

From Toronto: Take 400N/69 to Sudbury. From there you can go 144N to the Sultan Road (Left at the Watershed Restaurant). This 80 km logging road may cost you a windshield, but will save an hour. The other option is to take 17W from Sudbury to Iron Bridge,North on 546/554 to 129. North to Chapleau. Approx. driving time from Toronto is 8-10 hours.

Commercial Airlines (www.aircanada.ca)
Air Canada's partners fly into Timmins from Toronto with 3-4 flights daily. Airport pick up is included in our guided packages. We will pick up canoeists from Timmins for our standard shuttle fee. Drive time from Timmins is 3 hours.
Private aircraft/charter:
Chapleau has a very good airport. We can pick up in Chapleau upon request. Float planes can land on Racine Lake.

Train (www.viarail.ca)
The "Budd Car" is a local train which runs from Sudbury to Chapleau on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. There are no easy connections from Toronto.

From Toronto it is best to take the Via Train direct to Foleyet (T,TH, SAT)

 

 

Please be aware that the road north from Chapleau is not paved. It is usually in good condition. Watch for logging trucks and give them the right of way.

Cell service ends when you get North of HWY 17

Drive carefully, and watch out for moose on the road!
