Intro to Moving Water Weekend Clinic
Missinaibi Headwaters specializes in canoe instruction courses, which focus on whitewater canoe tripping. We will teach the skills and techniques required to paddle Wilderness Rivers safely, without sacrificing the fun. Participants will learn eddy turns, ferries, river reading and scouting, rescues, and a lot of playing, all using one of Ontario's finest paddling rivers as a classroom.

Swimming a rapid, retrieving a swamped canoe, canoe over canoe rescue, river rescue, communication on the water.
Theory
Canoeing heritage, canoe design and construction, canoe outfitting, moving water principles, river reading, river first aid, trip planning

Entering and exiting canoe, eddy turns, peel out, S turn, C turn, Front Ferry, Back Ferry, front surf, portaging
