A Suggested Itinerary for our Basecamp Package

Day 1: Arrive at Racine Lake Campground. Set up your camp, explore the property, swim. have your first campfire that night, beneath the most unbelievable night sky.

Day 2: Take Sea Kayaks out on Racine Lake. With 18 km's of shoreline, including some secluded sand beaches, this is a great way to experience one of the prettiest's lakes in the North.

Day 3: Arrange MHO to shuttle you to the nearby Chapleau River for a day canoe trip up to a small waterfall. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the rock lunch spot, and don't forget to try fishing for Pike and Walleye along the way.

Day 4: A little rain this morning? Maybe today is a good day for a drive through the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve. Our staff can show you the best roads to see wildlife. Have lunch on the shore of Big Missinaibi Lake at Missinaibi Lake Provincial Park. If you return in time, you might be able to catch the evening bite of Walleye on Racine Lake.

Day 5: If the weather is good (and it usually is in the summer) why not book a guide to take your family on an educational adventure for the day? Our day trip programme has a number of guided excursions to choose from.

Day 6: Boy, time flies! You have been here most of the week, and haven't even been to town. A 26 km trip into Chapleau to get a few things, buy souvenirs, maybe a nice meal. While you are there, you may wish to visit the Museum, or arrange a tour of the sawmill or Co-Generation plant, where they burn scrap wood products to produce electricity for the town.

Day 7: Last day here, and there is still so much to do! Maybe you'll just relax and enjoy the beach, or play around in canoes or kayaks, or go fishing. Maybe, you'll see if you can take another week's vacation and just stay a while longer...
